Catalytic performance of chromium oxide supported on mesoporous Al-SBA-15 and Si-SBA-15 materials in the of propane-to-propene dehydrogenation under CO2. Effect of acidic properties of support
Mesoporous Si supports were synthesized by decomp. of SiO4Et4, modified with (NH4)(3)AlF6 (Si/Al ratio 15-60) and then impregnated with Cr(NO3)(3) to produce catalyst for conversion of PrH to MeCH=CH2 in presence of CO2. The catalysts were tested for catalytic activity (dehydratation of Me2CHOH and dehydrogenation of PrH in He or CO2), temp.-programmed redn. with H-2 and low-temp. adsorption of N-2. The modification with Al resulted in an increase PrH conversion, MeCH=CH2 yield and turnover frequency.
