NH(4) clynoptylolite and Mn glauconite were used for prepn. of artificial soils for growing spring rye. Both the soils and the plant materials (above-ground parts, root) were analyzed for pH, NH(4), nitrogen, Mg, P, K, Mn, Zn and cation-exchange capacity. The Mn-contg. zeolite was more efficient in acidic and very acidic soils while the NH(4)-contg. clynoptylolite was recommended for the soils with pH > 5.
