Reaction rate constant in synthesis of phenol-formaldehyde resins in presence of alkaline catalysts
Condensation of PhOH with CH(2)O in aq. soln. at 60-80 degrees C was carried out in presence of NaOH and followed by titration and liq. chromatog. A full Box-Behnken model of exptl. design was used. Four examples of calcn. of reaction rate consts. were presented. A good correlation between the consts. and the entry function was obsd.
