Corn. alkylbenzene sulfonic acids, polyoxyethylene C(12)-C(15) and C(12)-C(14) alkyl ether sulfuric and C(12)-C(14) alkyl sulfuric acids were neutralized with MgO to resp. Mg salts, studied then for chem. compn., phys. and surface-active properties and compared with resp. corn. Na salts. The aq. solns. of the Mg salts showed lower zein no., surface tension and crit. micelle concn. and higher d., viscosity and foaming ability than the solns. of the resp. Na salts and were recommended as components of surface-active formulations for household agents and cosmetics.
