Ecological fire resistant modifications of polymer materials made of Epidian 5 epoxy resin
A corn. epoxy resin was modified by addn. of 3 com. fire retardants (0.1-10%), cured and studied for heat release rate, sp. extinction area, mass loss rate and CO and CO2 emissions in fire by cone calorimetry at heating intensity 30 or 50 kW/m(2). The simultaneous addn. of AlO(OH) and H3PO4 was the most efficient method for fire retarding while the addn. of C nanotubes resulted in the highest increase in the ignition temp.
