Enantioselective oxidation of racemic diethyl hydroxyphenylmethanephosphonate in presence of baker's yeast
Racemic mixt. of PhCH(OH)P(O)(OEt)(2) was enantioselectively oxidized at 18-25 degrees C for 120 h by using baker's yeast as a biocatalyst optionally in presence of cyclohexanone. The product showed an enantiomeric excess up to 39% as calcd. from P-31-NMR spectra.
