Magnetic field assisted fluidization - A unified approach - Part 6. topics of gas-liquid-solid fluidized bed hydrodynamics
Part 6 of the series Magnetic Field Assisted Fluidization- a Unified Approach is devoted to gas-liquid-solid fluidized beds. The article is a systematic analysis of this branch of magnetically controlled fluidization that is, in fact, the first review since the brief comments of Liu et al. (1991). Unified approach developed in the previous parts of the series does permit establishment of a clear point of view on the current state and definition of future problems. A special issue in this review is the classification of magnetically assisted three-phase fluidization. Nowadays, this classification scheme is unique and allows to analyze the up-to-date status of magnetically assisted three-phase fluidized bed and to figure potential research branches both in deep process studies and development of new devices. The analyis spans bubble columns with magnetization FIRST and LAST mode of operations, magnetically assisted slurry bubble columns, trickle beds based on magnetically stabilized (or. frozen) beds and magnetically assisted airlifts with controllable liquid circulation. All these issues make Part 6 a comprehensive review thoroughly investigating one undeveloped, but with a great potential, branch of magnetic field assisted fluidization.
