Organic-inorganic hybrid ionic conductor prepared by sol-gel process
Organic-inorganic hybrid Li+ ion conductors were synthesized by sol-gel process. Hybrid conductors were prepared from tetra-methyl-orthosilicate and polyethylene glycol(PEG). The effects of molecular weight of PEG and lithium salt concentration on the ionic conductivity were investigated. Hybrid gel conductor at ([Li]/[O] = 0.05] showed very high ionic conductivity values of 1.82 x 10(-4) S/cm, 1.0 x 10(-3) S/cm at room temperature and 60 degreesC, respectively. We found that ionic conductivity increased with decreasing molecular weight.
