The main purpose of this paper is to present analysis methods for transient-pressure response of horizontal wells in bounded reservoirs. Several lateral-boundary models are examined, and detailed explanations of possible derivative responses are given. New, generalized diagnostic rules and well-test analysis procedures are provided. Practical issues are discussed at length.
