AN EXPERIMENTAL-STUDY OF MISCIBLE DISPLACEMENTS IN HETEROGENEOUS CARBONATE CORES USING X-RAY CT
A series of flow visualization experiments have been conducted with X-ray computerized tomography (CT) on 10. 16-cm-diameter carbonate core samples to study local displacement mechanisms on a 1-mm scale. Liquid-phase miscible displacement experiments were performed with and without a residual phase. Simulations have been performed with a linear, 3D cell model that includes capacitance effects.
