Surface modification of a flexible polyimide film using a reactive fluorinated polymer nanosheet
This paper describes an effective approach to surface modification of a flexible polyimide film using a reactive fluorinated polymer nanosheet. N-(1H,1H-pentadecafluorooctyl)methacrylamide copolymers containing carboxyl group as a reactive moiety form stable monolayer on the water surface and highly ordered reactive polymer nanosheets can be fabricated by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique. This reactive fluorinated polymer nanosheet was utilized to modify the surface properties of polyimide film through its immobilization using thermal treatment. The modification process was studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and modified PI surface was characterized by contact angle measurements and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
