Multiferroic epitaxial Mn-doped BaTiO3 thin films
In this study, we investigate the multiferroic properties of Mn-doped BaTiO3 (BTO) thin films. The BTO thin films are grown on an epitaxial (002) Pt/MgO substrate using pulsed laser deposition techniques. The Mn-doped BTO thin films exhibit ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism in which the ferroelectricity increased and the ferromagnetism decreased as the film thickness increased. Therefore, the multiferroic properties of the BTO thin films can be controlled by adjusting the film thickness. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
