The currently incoming battery scrap contains higher tin concentrations than modern starter batteries. The lead and tin containing mixtures, which are generated in recycling of this scrap, cannot be returned into the cycle of recoverable materials. This report describes a method to separate the constituents of the mixtures in order to return lead and tin into the economic cycle.
