Flash Crystallization - Mechanism in the Crystallizer and Operating Behavior of the Continuous Process
In the flash crystallization process small, fine crystals (L-50,L-3 = 20-70 mu m) are produced in a special crystallizer, separated from the mother liquor and finally agglomerated to desired particle forms and sizes. In this study the mechanism in the crystallizer, the operating behavior of the continuous process and the morphology of the crystals are examined. As a result a better understanding of the process is obtained. This is essential to transfer the flash crystallization process from laboratory and pilot plant scale to production scale.
