Track membranes in post-treatment of domestic wastewater
The possibility of application of track-etched membranes to the post-treatment of biologically purified domestic wastewater (BPDW) from detached buildings has been investigated. The pressure dependence of the performance of the distilled water and BPDW filtering process for track membranes prepared from Russian-made and imported films, the dependence of the process performance and purification efficiency on the membrane pore size in the dead-end and cross-flow modes, the efficiency of conventional methods of regeneration of track membranes using citric acid, and the influence of backwash on the restoration of the BPDW filtration performance have been determined.
