This erratum points out a mistake in section 8 of the authors's paper [SIAM J. Control Optim., 50 (2012), pp. 1038-1070]. The results of that section fail to hold in the present form of Definition 8.1. To correct the proofs from that section we restrict e equal to zero in part (ii) of the definition.
