Use of tea tree oil as an antimicrobial substance in the plasma modification of polyamide-polyethylene film
Polyamide-polyethylene laminate film was modified with tea tree oil (optionally in presence of Si(OEt)(4) and O-2) by using Ar plasma-enhanced chem. vapor deposition under atm. pressure to improve the antimicrobial and barrier properties of the film. The coating resulted in a decrease in the growth of bacteria Micrococcus luteus by 15%.
