Comments on'Intensified Effect of Reduced Pressure on the Foam Fractionation Process of Bovine Serum Albumin' of Wang et al.
A recent publication of a method for the intensification of the foam fractionation of a protein by reducing the pressure in the column is examined. It is demonstrated by invoking the original experimental results and by a theoretical analysis that the proposed method has no inherent advantage over a conventional foam fractionation column operated under normal conditions. Possible methods for valid process intensification are also discussed.
