Surface activation of perfluorosulfonic acid membrane used in fuel cells with vacuum UV photo-oxidation
Perfluorosulfonic acid membrane (Nafion-117) was surface activated with low-pressure vacuum UV photo-oxidation downstream from Ar microwave plasma. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy detected defluorination and incorporation of oxygen into the modified Nafion surface. An in-depth chemical state analysis for the C 1s, O 1s and S 2p spectra is reported.
