Effect of process parameters on optimum working conditions for catalyst carriers and packings
Literature data (Kolodziej, A.; 2001) on 11 metallic or ceramic carriers of catalysts were used for correlating the Nusselt no. and Fanning friction factor. Dimensionless entropy generation rate was presented as a function of Reynolds no., to bed length, pressure, inlet air temp. and wall temp. Maximum values of the Nusselt no. and the entropy generation rate ratio and optimum Bejan no. were calcd. The carrier consisting of rosettes and U-shaped rings showed the highest relative Nusselt and Bejan nos. and was used for prepn. of efficient V-P catalysts of BuH-to-maleic anhydride oxidn.
