Ways of enhancing energy efficiency of tube furnace operation (by improving lining quality, controlling fuel/air/steam ratio, etc.) are described. Methods of removing deposits from the outer surface of the coils in the operating furnace are examined. The operational characteristics of several investigated furnaces are cited.
