Large-area Synthesis of Single-crystal PbTiO3 Nanobelts and Nanoflakes
We first report large-area single-crystal PbTiO3 nanobelts and nanoflakes synthsized via sol-gel method. The experimental results show reaction temperature plays a decisive role in the formation PbTiO3 nanobelts and nanoflakes. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) investigations show the obtained PbTiO3 nanobelts and nanoflakes are pure tetragonal phase. TEM and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations show single-crystal PbTiO3 nanobelts with average breadth 80-200 nm and several micrometer length. The shape of the obtained nanoflakes with about 20-25 nm thickness is irregular and the nanoflakes are formed by PbTiO3 quantum dots. A possible mechanism for the formation has been proposed.
