Microscope Measurements of Lateral Diffusion of Fluorescent Rhodamine B at Toluene/Water Interface by Total Internal Reflection-Fluorescence Recovery after Photobleaching
Measurements of total internal reflection fluorescence recovery after photobleaching were carried out for rhodamine B at the toluene/water interface. The experimental apparatus was optimized for measuring the fast diffusion of small molecules such as rhodamine B. The obtained diffusion coefficient was (4.5 +/- 0.9) x 10(-10) m(2) s(-1), which almost agreed with the value calculated with the Stokes Einstein equation.
