Mass Transfer around Axisymmetric Particles of Revolution in Variable Diffusion Coefficient Liquids
Mass transfer around axisymmetric solid particles of revolution at high Peclet numbers has been theoretically studied. The liquid is a constant density binary system, having a variable diffusion coefficient, which depends on the solute concentration. Asymptotic solutions for very short and very long times are presented, and the only requirements are the shape of the particle, the tangential velocity gradient at the surface of the particle, and an expression for the variable diffusion coefficient liquid.
