Chemical exergy analysis of two industrial systems
Exergy analysis of thermal and chemical processes has achieved a wide level of acceptance. In this study, an expression for the chemical exergy is derived for open systems and then applied to an ideal compressed air storage (CAS) process and a blast furnace (BF) process, both of which are used in industry. The chemical exergy values obtained for these systems are compared with literature values of total exergies.
