Evaluation of the cellular response to hybrid materials (SiO2/TiO2), depending on the used precursors in the sol-gel method
Hybrid SiO2/TiO2 coatings were deposited on steel surface by sol-gel method using i-Bu(EtO)(3)Si, Pr(EtO)(3)Si, (BuO)(4)Ti and (i-PrO)(4)Ti precursors, stabilized at 250 degrees C for 12 h and tested for biocompatibility with mesenchymal stem cells for 168 h. The coatings showed a balonced effect on the cell adhesion and proliferation.
