We examine the infinite frequency elastic moduli of steeply repulsive inverse power, r(-n), potential fluids. Using molecular dynamics simulation we show that these are proportional to n and therefore diverge in the hard-sphere n-->infinity limit, which we also prove independently for the case of spheres.
