Fractionation of the whole egg of quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) in supercritical carbon dioxide
Mass of quail eggs collected from birds fed with Se Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast-contg. fodder was extd. with CO2 under supercritical conditions (10-40 MPa, 60 degrees C) optionally in presence of EtOH entrainer to remove components insol. in pure CO2. The fractions and extn. residue were analized for fatty acids in lipids by gas chromatog. Addn. of the yeast to the fodder resulted in an increase in content of alpha-linolenic acid (from 0.85% up to 5.19%), of eicosapentaenoic acids (from 0.74% up to 1.74%) and of docosahexaenoic acid (from 4.04.% up to 7.28%).
