Purification of egg yolk plasma from lipoproteins with hydrocolloids
Egg yolk plasma was dild. with H2O (1:3) at 2 degrees C, acidified with citric acid to pH 5.0 and centrifuged (8600 g, 30 mm) to sep. aq. soln. of livetins. The soln. was treated with hydrocolloids (xanthan, dextran and kappa carrageenan) and NaCl to salt out immunoglobulin Y recovered then by dialysis (cellulose bag, permeability 2 kDa). The use of kappa carrageenan was most efficient in removal lipoproteins.
