Studies on new concepts of high-temperature coal tar processing Part 2. Experimental studies on coal tar upgrading in supercritical water and supercritical methanol
High-temp, coal tar was upgraded in supercrit. MeOH and supercrit. H2O in an autoclave reactor at 350-425 degrees C and 14-27 MPa on a Ni-W catalyst to det. the yields and characteristics of the products and compare with those obtained in thermal cracking. The H/C at. ratios in the oil fraction b. below 360 degrees C produced with use of catalyst were higher than those in the fractions produced without any catalyst.
