Effect of preparation conditions on characteristics of hollow TiO2 fibers fabricated by chemical deposition and template method
Hollow TiO2 fibers were successfully prepared by chemical homogeneous deposition method, using synthetic fibers as templates. The experimental results indicated that the average diameter and length of TiO2 fibers could be greatly affected by deposition temperature, concentration of TiOSO4, mass ratio of TiOSO4 and synthetic fiber templates, concentration of precipitator, deposition time, etc. Under the optimal preparation conditions, TiO2 fibers with average outer diameter of 10.2 mu m and length of 643 mu m were obtained, and the average wall thickness was about 3.5 mu m.
