Synthesis of Anionic Sulfonate-functionalized Conducting Polymer Nanotubes and Selective Confinement of Cationic Gold Nanoparticles in Their Inner Cavities via Electrostatic Interaction
New sulfonate-functionalized conducting polythiophene nanotubes were synthesized and easily dispersed in water without them aggregating. The positively charged Au nanoparticles with viologen were selectively attached to the inner surfaces of their negatively charged polythiophene nanotubes via an interfacial electrostatic interaction.
