Filtered models for bidisperse gas-particle flows
Using the microscopic multi-fluid model as a starting point we perform fine grid simulations of biclisperse gas-particle flows to examine the dependence of the filtered fluid-particle drag coefficient, particle-particle drag coefficient, and particle phase stress on the volume fractions and sizes of the particles and the filter size. Scalings are identified for the filtered fluid-particle drag coefficient, particle-particle drag coefficient, and particle phase pressure that capture the dependence of each filtered correction on the size and volume fraction ratios of the bidisperse assembly.
