Laser spectroscopy of the C-1 Sigma(+)-X-1 Sigma(+) transition of ScBr
The laser induced fluorescence spectrum of scandium monobromide (ScBr) between 795 and 845 nm has been recorded and analyzed. ScBr was produced by reacting laser vaporized Sc atoms with ethyl bromide (C2H5Br). Spectra of six vibrational bands of both (ScBr)-Br-79 and (ScBr)-Br-81 isotopomers of the C-1 Sigma(+)-X-1 Sigma(+) transition were observed. A least-squares fit of the measured line positions yielded accurate molecular constants for the nu = 0-3 levels of the C-1 Sigma(+) state and the nu = 0-2 levels of the X-1 Sigma(+) state. The equilibrium bond length of the C-1 Sigma(+) state has been determined to be 2.4776 angstrom. (C) 2012 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
