The role of mixing entropy in molecular self-assembly
It has been shown that for the case of linearly polymerizing systems in solution the contribution from mixing entropy should not be taken into account when the dependence of equilibrium constant on the number of molecules in an aggregate must be explicitly considered. A correction to the published profiles of equilibrium constant is suggested. (C) 2013 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
