Production of NH(Nd) Radicals in the Reactions of N(2(2)D) with H-2(D-2) - Nascent Vibrational Distributions of NH(X(3)Sigma(-)) and Nd(X(3)Sigma(-))
A mixture of NO and H-2(D-2) was irradiated with an intense laser pulse at 275.2 nm which dissociates NO to produce N(D-2). Electronically ground state NH(ND) radicals could be detected as products of the N(D-2)+H-2(D-2) reaction by laser-induced fluorescence. The nascent vibrational population ratios, NH(v"=1)/NH(v"=0) and ND(v"=1)/ND(v"=0), were determined to be 0.9 and 1.0, respectively.
