Low frequency pseudo-inductive phenomenon at novel glass microcapillaries exhibiting non-ohmic behaviour
A facile methodology to produce novel, robust and reusable glass capillaries of nano- and micro-scale dimension is presented. Using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, we observe the presence of a low frequency pseudo-inductive behaviour on capillaries exhibiting non-ohmic current-potential dependence. Impedance data suggest a possible role for glass wall-based electrokinetic effects in ion current rectification. The importance of these effects to experiments conducted at the interface between two immiscible electrolyte solutions is inferred and briefly discussed. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
