Two-fluid model for prediction of wet steam transonic flow
The paper presents a description of a two-fluid slip velocity model dedicated to the steam condensing flow modeling. The model solves separate flow governing equations for the compressible, viscous and turbulent vapor phase, and for the compressible and inviscid liquid phase. The model is implemented into an in-house Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code that has been successfully applied for the wet steam flow calculations for many years now. The homogeneous condensation model is used for modeling the liquid phase formation. Calculations of spontaneous condensing, transonic flows in the turbine blade-to-blade channel are presented. The comparison of the model predictions with the experimental data are discussed. (C) 2013 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
