Volumetric Study of (an Aliphatic Methyl-Ester Plus Heptane or Nonane) at the Temperature 298.15-K
The densities rho at T = 298.15 K and atmospheric pressure were obtained at several compositions for 10 binary liquid mixtures : (an aliphatic methyl ester + heptane or nonane). The methyl esters considered were CH3(CH2)vCO2CH3 with v = 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8. Density measurements were performed with a DMA 60/602 Anton-Paar densimeter. The excess molar volumes V(m)E, computed from (density, composition) are positive with the exception of {xCH3(CH2)6CO2CH3 + (1 - x)CH3(CH2)5CH3} and {xCH3(CH2)8CO2CH3 + (1 - x)CH3(CH2)5CH3}, for which V(m)E becomes negative when x > 0.7 and x > 0, respectively. Our V(m)E values were compared against those obtained applying the group-contribution molecular model of Nitta et al., using a parameter set already available in the literature.
