Influence of strain path on forming limit strains in aluminum
The purpose of this research is to reveal the influence of preceding straining on the subsequent deformation behavior in sheet metal forming of aluminum. Three types of two stage strain paths were tested in the present study; (1) uniaxial tensile straining followed by orthogonal uniaxial tensile straining, (2) equibiaxial tensile straining followed by uniaxial tensile straining and (3) uniaxial tensile straining followed by biaxial tensile straining. The forming limit strains increased largely compared to those with a monotonous strain path by taking the proper two stage strain paths.
