Optimization for superplasticity in ultrafine-grained Al-Mg-Se alloys using equal-channel angular pressing
Ultrafine grain sizes may be achieved in materials subjected to severe plastic deformation through processing procedures such as equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP). Experiments were conducted to evaluate the factors influencing the superplastic characteristics of Al-Mg-Sc alloys. Specifically, detailed testing was undertaken to determine the influence of (i) the processing route, (ii) the strain introduced by ECAP and (iii) the Mg content.
