Excess Molar Enthalpies and Excess Molar Heat-Capacities of (Chloroform Plus Tetrahydrofuran Plus Cyclohexane) at the Temperature 298.15 K
Excess molar enthalpies and excess molar hear capacities at T = 298.15 K were determined for {xCHCl(3) + (1-x)c-(CH2)(4)O or c-C6H12} and for {x(1)CHCl(3) + x(2)c-(CH2)(4)O + (1 - x(1) - x(2))c-C6H12}. Both experimental properties were represented by a Redlich-Kister type equation. The large negative values of the excess enthalpies and the positive values of the excess heat capacities observed in the ternary composition domain are mainly determined by the specific interaction between chloroform and tetrahydrofuran. The properties of the ternary system were poorly reproduced by combining the information of the parent binary mixtures using empirical rules. They were, however, better described by semi-empirical equations such as the Wang, UNIQUAC, and UNIFAC methods.
