This paper first describes several developments in the field of instruments of shape memory alloys (SMA's) made at the Institute for Medical Engineering and Biophysics at the FZK and then the comparing developments and also new developments of industrial institutions or companies. Implants except of porous NiTi are not mentioned in this paper.
