Atomistic model of rapidly moving grain boundaries in FCC metals
The phenomena of growth selection observed during recrystallization of polycrystalline pure aluminum is summarised. The structural characteristics of fcc coincidence lattice at 38.21degrees <111> is analysed and discussed, after which an explanation of the misorientation around 40degrees <111> observed in the growth selection of fcc metals is given.
