Analysis of compression textures of aluminum and nickel rods
The edge and center of a nickel rod with the initial texture of strong <111> and weak <100> developed different textures after compression up to 50% without lubrication. The texture of the edge remained unchanged by little deformation due to friction between the edge and the tool, while the center developed the <110> texture, which is the uniaxial compression texture in fcc metals. An aluminum rod with the initial texture of <111> developed the <110> texture passing through <432> and <452> as the reduction increased up to 70% under lubrication. The results could be well simulated using the full constraints Taylor model.
