Neutron diffraction study of texture and stored energy in ECA pressed copper
The texture of copper, pressed up to epsilon=8.2 by Equal-Channel Angular (ECA) method, is discussed basing on neutron diffraction pole figure measurements. Crystallographic texture was analysed with the aim to prepare a map of energy storage measurements points. A corresponding programme for scans was elaborated, enabling to determine the orientation dependence of the half-width of the diffracted peaks, in particular around the main texture component (032)[3-23]. The calculated stored energy ranged from 2.6 up to 3.9 J/g-atom, which is conformable to the values encountered in processes under change of the deformation path.
