Non-oriented silicon steel recrystallization texture study
Texture evolution in two commercial silicon steel grades, 0,71%Si and 1,98%Si, with final annealing temperature, was studied from hot rolled samples taken from industrial production. Samples were annealed at 900degreesC, cold rolled to 75% reduction and final annealed in continuous furnace. The low Si steel tends to develop a recrystallization texture with strong Goss component and weaker gamma fibre. The 1,98%Si steel develops a strong gamma fibre that is strengthened by grain growth. The results have been attributed to the differences in initial texture between the two steel grades and effect of solute content on interface mobility. The evolution of magnetic properties after complete recrystallization is explained by the texture evolution.
