Electrical conductivity of fullerene derivatives
In this paper electrical conductivity of fullerene derivatives was investigated. Compared with pure fullerene (molecule C-60), which is an insulator (10(-12) Sm-1), the measured C-60(OH)(24) shows several order of magnitude higher electrical conductivity. Both, endohedral Cu@C-60 and CuO/C-60 mixture exhibit good conductivity, which could be expected since they contain an excess of metal particles. Cyclic voltammograms of Cu@C-60 were obtained. Carbon dust as a precursor for fullerenes extraction has electrical conductivity of the same order of magnitude as endohedral fullerenes.
