This paper discusses the economics of RCM (rotating cylinder method) and lower-cost raw materials, which show a strong potential for being able to produce a castable AZ91D/SiC/10p and AZ91D/flyash/10p magnesium MMC (metal matrix composite) product for close to 2.4 $ per kg.
