Simulation of particle trajectories and statistical analysis in twin-screw extruders
Three-dimensional isothermal flows in the intermeshing co- and counter-rotating twin-screw extruders are simulated respectively using the finite element package POLYFLOW. On the basis of the calculated flow field, particle trajectories are visualized and the mixing status is statistically analyzed in these two types of machines.
